This #ThrowbackThursday we are taking it back to 1969! While the microprocessor was being invented, ARPANET (the predecessor to the modern internet) was being created, Buzz Aldrin was landing on the moon and Woodstock was uniting people with music, Motor Coach Industries was rolling out the MC-7. Meant to replace Greyhound’s Scenicruiser bus fleet, the MC-7 is 40 feet in length with ample amounts of storage room. Because they were built so well, around 2,550 MC-7s were sold during production years.

This particular 1969 MC-7 was converted into a motorhome and well kept by its previous owner. The blue on aluminum exterior styling gives the bus conversion a fun but refined look that perfectly fits this well-crafted piece of machinery. As you venture inside you are greeted by well-kept furniture and a very spacious “living area”. The four long couches/booth style seating allows for plenty of room for passengers to get comfortable. For the most part, anything that is not made of some type of cloth is built with wood that has been kempt throughout the years. In the driver’s area you can see the original controls to operate the bus, still in functioning order.

The rebuilt Detroit Diesel 8V92 engine drives this beast of an RV and only has ~ 27k miles on it. The inside is fully air conditioned and has a thermostat mounted to give you precise control of your comfort level. The 1969 MC-7 sits at a height of 13 feet and width of 8 feet which comfortably sleeps 6 adults. The 179-gallon fuel tank will keep you on the road for long enough to switch out the driver multiple times and keep going. The 1969 MC-7 RV conversion is a powerhouse that will continue to be considered a “classic” for years to come.
