There are many gorgeous places to RV in the winter, and camping can be very enjoyable if you prepare your vehicle in the right way. However, we realize that many of you (like us) may not want to spend their winter dealing with below-freezing temperatures and constant snowfall. For those of you who prefer to escape the cold, we’ve found some great camping destinations in the South that are ideal for RVing all year ’round. Check out these Good Sam approved southern camping destinations:

Ocean Lakes Family Campground – South Carolina

Located in beautiful Myrtle Beach, this pet-friendly campground has 640 paved sites, 50-amp electric, and 859 full hookup sites to accommodate warm-weather RVers from near and far. The heated pool is perfect for winter swimming, and the scenic beach views are beautiful from sunrise to sunset. Free Wi-Fi is available at all campsites and the Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center offers fun games and activities all year long. If you’re planning to camp at Ocean Lakes this winter, make sure you take part in the traditional Polar Bear Plunge in the ocean on December 31st!

Boyd’s Key West Campground – Florida

Enjoy tropical waterfront camping in Key West at the USA’s most southern campground. This campground has 203 total spaces including 163 full hookup sites and 25 grass sites. The oceanfront campsites offer 50-amp and 30-amp electricity, and the grounds have 24-hour security. You can lounge on the beach, splash around in the heated swimming pool, or take advantage of the boat access to the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Pets are welcome at the campground and there are plenty of planned activities and social functions throughout the year. Temperatures in Key West only vary by 12 degrees year-round, so you can leave the winter coats at home when you visit this destination.

Juno Ocean Walk RV Resort – Florida

Juno Beach, Florida is an ideal destination for camping enthusiasts who don’t want to deal with cold temperatures in the winter. This tropical resort has 246 RV sites and is located just off Route 1, giving you easy access to the public beach and fishing pier. The campground also offers a heated pool, spa, and clubhouse, as well as courts for volleyball, shuffleboard and more. While you may find it hard to leave the beach or pool, there are plenty of fun activities and events going on throughout the year. Dancing, billiards, barbecues, bingo, and a weekly happy hour are just some of the ways you can relax and socialize with your fellow campers.

River View RV Park and Resort – Mississippi

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River in Vidalia, Louisiana, this RV park and resort is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground has 185 full hookup sites, Wi-Fi, a pool, hot tub, playground and much more. The easy river access is ideal for those who love to fish, and hunting is also popular in the area. Hikers and bikers will also enjoy the 1.5 mile walkway along the riverfront, as well as the nearby trails in Historic Natchez.

Buena Vista Coastal RV Resort – Alabama
