by | Aug 11, 2017 | RV Buyer's Guide, Tips & Tricks

Because yesterday was National S’mores Day, we figured we would celebrate by sharing our top favorite s’mores recipes! After all, what’s a camping trip without s’mores over the campfire! With so many possible combinations of sweet treats, this classic campfire dessert can be modified to fit everyone’s taste!

The Classic

Of course the first on our list had to be the classic s’mores! Pack a box of graham crackers, a package of chocolate, and a bag of marshmallows and you’ll be set for a fun night around the fire! Enjoy that classic taste while sharing stories and participating in the traditional campfire experience!

Reeses S’mores

If you like the traditional flavor but want to add in a little kick, we suggest swapping the classic Hershey’s chocolate for some Reese’s! You can’t go wrong with a little peanut butter flavor added in there!

PB&J

If you’re loving the Reese’s idea and want to take it up a notch, make yourself a PB&J s’more! Put peanut butter on one side of the graham cracker sandwich and your favorite jam or jelly on the other side. Then just toast the marshmallow and scoop it on to the crackers and you’ll have the perfect dessert PB&J!

Nutty Buddy

If you’re a fan of the nutty flavor than this s’more is for you! Use some Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread instead of a Hershey’s bar and then layer some chopped hazelnuts on top! To bring this flavor together, add some sliced bananas and you’ll have a treat that redefines the idea of the s’more!

Chocolate Lover

For all the s’more lovers who just can’t seem to get enough chocolate, this s’more is your dream come true! Combine a chocolate marshmallow and milk chocolate Hershey’s on a chocolate graham cracker and you’ll be in chocolate heaven!

S’moreos

Let’s be honest, we all know the best part of the oreo is the filling. This unique s’more combination is like an oreo with triple the filling. Stuff your toasted marshmallow in between two oreo cookies and fall in love with the result!

Hint of Mint

For a s’more that will leave a fresh feeling, try exchanging the Hershey’s with some Andes chocolate mints! These little chocolates are a hit on their own so they’re bound to be a hit when paired with a marshmallow!

Sweet & Salty

With fall coming up, this s’mores treat will be everyone’s favorite! Use some pretzel chips instead of graham crackers and caramel sauce instead of chocolate. Add apples and the marshmallow on and you’ll be left with the perfectly sweet and salty treat!

Fruity

If you aren’t quite adventurous enough with your palette to try our other recipes, start with a fruity s’more. You can’t go wrong by adding some strawberry slices or blueberries onto the traditional s’more. You can even swap milk chocolate for dark chocolate and we are sure you will love the final result!

Tropical

If you love tropical flavors, this s’more is for you! Add some slices of pineapple to bring a tangy tropical taste to your s’more! If you’re really feeling adventurous, add some toasted coconut shavings to add an extra umph!

Lemon Meringue Pie

If you’re a fan of lemon meringue pie, you will love this s’more! Just swap out the chocolate for some lemon curd and you will feel like your eating a bite sized pie!

Strawberry Shortcake

This s’mores recipe is a little different than all the rest. Instead of using graham crackers, use either shortbread cookies or a biscuit split in half as your “bread.” Add some strawberries on and it will be your own little strawberry shortcake.

The Minimalist

If you don’t like classic s’mores, we have an option for you too! Make a small hole in your marshmallow with your thumb and stick a chocolate of your choice inside! Toast it over the campfire and enjoy the chocolate filled treat that comes out!

Campfire Berries

If you aren’t a chocolate fan, we know just what you should use for s’mores! Dip some strawberries in melted marshmallow fluff and then toast them over the fire! You can’t go wrong with this option and everyone else will be wanting to try it too!

Campfire Cones

If you’re looking for an easy and clean alternative to s’mores, try out these campfire cones! Stuff the inside of an ice cream cone with marshmallows and your favorite candies, fruits and treats! One they are full, wrap them in foil and toast them over the fire! Use silverware to eat them and enjoy the cone as well!

Banana Boat

If you love bananas, this is a fun option to try! cut open a banana and stuff the inside with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. Wrap it up in foil and toast it over the campfire or grill for a couple minutes and enjoy the banana split like treat!
