This week’s Travel Tuesday destination takes us all the way to upstate New York, where you can enjoy the Adirondacks in a new way! Lake George Escape is a great destination for anyone looking to explore the North.

About Lake George Escape

This Adirondack campground is located in the heart of upstate New York, just 6 miles away from Lake George. The family camping experience provided has made the park known. They have a recreational activities staff that works year-round to ensure that there are planned events every camper will enjoy. With over 575 scenic RV sites to choose from, you are guaranteed to be in a site you will love.

The RV sites start at just $27 a night and, for the most part, are spacious and covered in a canopy of trees to give you some shade during summer. The majority of the RV sites are waterfront either on the frog pond, river or creek so you can enjoy a peaceful view as well. Each site includes water that has been approved by the state of New York and many include cable TV with the hookup. The maximum for each site is 8 people and 2 pets.

The property has security that limits access into the park for only those with a pass to ensure you and your family’s safety throughout your stay. Quiet hours are enforced and disturbances by camper or pet have a one strike policy. The refund policy is strictly limited to certain cancellation to uphold the park’s belief that camping, even in an RV is always subject to nature.

Amenities

Lake George Escape is filled with many amazing amenities to enhance your stay at the campground, and this list highlights just a few of them!

Pool

The campground has 2 pools on site: one kiddie pool and one adult pool. This is a great area for guests to relax and enjoy their stay. Relax poolside in the lounge chairs or cool off in the water. Both pools are heated so you can enjoy them outside of summer as well.  All children under the age of 18 must have a parent with them at the pool and only bathing suits are allowed to be worn in the water.

Dog Park

What animal owner doesn’t wish they could take their furry friend on vacation with them? A stay at Lake George Resort makes that possible! With a capacity for 2 dogs allowed at each site, your pets are welcomed here and treated like royalty! The  campground has a dog park on site called the Paw Park where your dog can roam free with others and have plenty of space to use up all that energy that was stored on the drive up!

General Store

On the campground, visitors can find a general store. You can find anything you need to cook inside as well as some other items such as trinkets that represent the Adirondacks. If you can’ find the food you’re looking for in the store, there is Woodland Bar and Grill that serves and delivers food as well.

Riverfront

The sites run along a mile and a half of riverfront property on the Schroon River. This allows the campground to offer riverfront sites and rentals to participate in water sports. However, the rentals do cost a small amount. The general store has tubes, canoes, kayaks, boats and pedal carts for rent so you can explore more of the river front!

Facilities

Lake George Escape is focused on making your stay as comfortable as possible. The campground has equipped its property with showers, bathrooms, drink vending machines and even a laundry room to give those camping without electricity some basic amenities. Visitors with an electric hookup can use the dump station on the property as well. Because New York is a state that requires recycling, the campground is required to enforce this and has appropriate disposal bins throughout the park.

Sports Courts

Throughout the park, visitors will be able to find numerous sports courts. There is a place to play every sport from mini golf to basketball. Visitors always enjoy the emphasis on staying active and community involvement. Guests gain access to all of the sports facilities with a night’s stay.

Fishing

Grab your fishing pole and head down to the riverfront! Guests can catch fish anywhere in the park. Visitors are welcome to fish in the frog pond as well, though it may be a bit stagnat during summer months. Those over 16 must have an active license to fish in New York.

 Arcade

If you’re looking for activities inside, take a trip to the arcade and play some old fashioned games. Both kids and parents are sure to love this! Here, visitors can enjoy a relaxed night of family fun or some friendly competition!

Bonfire

Spend your night at the campground by the fire. Gather around, enjoy the community and share stories with each other! You can even bring along s’mores ingredients for an extra touch of fun. On select summer nights, you can also enjoy a fireworks show from your campfire.

Shuttle

Leave your RV hooked up and take the complimentary shuttle service the park offers! This shuttle drives you 10 minutes to Lake George Village where you can find everything you need! It runs once an hour, and begins at 9am and ends at 9pm. Visitors can spend an hour or a day at Lake George and return to a fully hooked up RV ready for them.

Activities

Lake George Escape offers endless on site activities as well. Wit their recreation activities staff, they are able to formulate a schedule that includes an activity for everyone on every day. The rec staff typically has a new theme for each week’s activities, so be sure to check that before you leave on your trip!

Sports and Fun

This campground offers sites to play everything from mini golf to swimming and everything in between. Visitors can also find fun activities around the park as well. Children can play in the bounce house on select days. Everyone is welcome to use the pool and fish in the river or pond. However, if you need a break from the physical exertion side of the activities, you can always visit the new remote control park! Both children and adults will enjoy all of these fun filled activities.

Mining

While mining may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of New York, this campground has sure made it a staple. Here, visitors have the opportunity to grab a bag and throw it into the sluice to see what treasures their pick holds. This is a great activity for groups of individuals looking to have a fun, teamwork experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover either gems or fossils depending on the bag they choose.

Classes

Guests have the opportunity to participate in a variety of classes here at Lake George Escape. Whether you love exercising or painting, this campground has a class that is perfect for you! A qualified individual teaches each class. The price ranges for different courses. This is a great way fro visitors to relax and enjoy their time off.

Besides the activities mentioned above, Lake George Escape still has much more to offer! Take a complimentary wagon ride around the property with the family.
